Last Day!

London to Cape Town Baby!
By Natasha

Wow! We can hardly believe that today was the last day for us in London! After a relaxing dinner with friends last night, we made our way over to the Richmond Hill Hotel for a nice relaxing night’s sleep. Tim booked the beautiful suite we stayed in during our first month in London for the night and it couldn’t have been a more symbolic way of ending our time here.. full circle.

And one thing we always loved about our stay at the Richmond Hill was the incredible full spread English Breakfast! So after a relaxing night’s sleep and a filling fry up for breakie, we made our way to church through Richmond Park scaring cyclists with the alarm blaring most of the way!

Wow.. God is good. Had some incredible time of reconciliation at church and dealing with issues that have been hiding under the surface and holding me back for quite some time now. We also got so many amazing words, prayers and pictures to send us off on this journey with a bang!

Nick Foley generously came down to Putney to meet us and to fix the alarm so that we now finally are able to travel around without worrying that people will constantly look at us thinking we stole the Landy! LOL

We had to go pick-up a bag of goodies brought over from the States by our friend Andre. The goodies included our T-shirts (thanks Nicole), some really cool camera equipment for filming on the trip (thank you so much Alex) and a water filter to help with supplying good, clean drinking water on the trip (thank you John and Kate!).

Our dear friends at the Selwyn house invited us over for a delicious homecooked Indian Curry meal... what a blessing to us both! Not only were we able to do our last minute laundry (since we are officially homeless and crashing), but we also got to celebrate our friendships and good times together with a nice bottle of proper bubbly!

Tonight we’ll be rushing to do some last minute packing (it feels like it never ends) and do all the things we’ve been meaning to do as pre-trip prep! We feel about 100 steps behind where we would’ve liked to have been before we left, but we just have to trust that God is in control on this one and that we will get some sleep tonight before we head out tomorrow!

PS. To anyone who had words and pictures for us this morning, would you mind either emailing them or commenting them below since we were just so overwhelmed (in a good way) by it all that it was hard to remember them all. Thanks so much!
